about

A culmination track, that exhibits the album artwork imagery at it's best. Are there two crows on the side of the road, or is it the pair themselves? A song that questions humanity, why we're here, and what if? Josh plays in the track, with an ear catching harmonica solo. Both Katie and Josh sing their way through the lyrics. Singer-Songwriter style meets Roots Rock, pulling influences from The Black Crowes and Jason Isbell.

lyrics

Sometimes I wonder how my life would have been
If my soul hadn't been placed down here
in this body wrapped with skin

Had I been a deer struggling to survive
Or spend my days in an office avoiding my bosses wandering eyes

Had I been a dolphin dodging hooks on the long line
Or labour in a factory worrying about your deadlines

Had I been a crow on the side of the road
Just picking at a carcass minding cars as they go

I'd rather be a bridge built so strong
Then I could help you carry on
I'd rather be a river that rages on
Then I could help you find your, find your way home
Yeah

It's a shame how tame we've become
To our own needs and greed we've succumbed
Temperature never quite right in my mind
I'd much rather be spending my time

I'd rather be a bridge built so strong
Then I could help you carry on
I'd rather be a river that rages on
Then I could help you find your, find your way home

Sometimes I wonder how my life would have been
What would have, could have, should have...
I'm still wondering
