The title track is a roots-rock ballad, featuring the couple harmonizing over hardships. It's a tell all, about where you find yourself on a hard day. How you cope with the hard questions, and truly a deep insight to the pairs' mental health struggles over the last year and a half during the pandemic. Josh admittedly saying that he turns to alcohol to cope with a lot of things, where Katie realizes that she tries to sleep the anguish away. Neither of them finding relief from these methods and inherently asking themselves How Did I Get Here? A crescendo of emotion pours out and stains the covers at the bridge of song. With an Incubus inspired break, of intense guitar solos and vocal runs. Bringing you up and over the hill safely to the other side. A song that feels anything but hopeful but still lifts you up in a familiar way. A song that made the couple go into some dark places, only to have to dig themselves out. A song that deserved the album title.
