It's circa 2003 ... Josh & Katie have just barely met ... hanging out at parties, staying up way too late... enjoying their teenage years and constantly pushing their luck. 'When We First Met' is a real story about how the couple met when they were young. KT wrote the lyrics one day while sitting around at home. She came up with a melody first and sang it into the voice memo on her phone. A few months later, Josh came up with the musical arrangements for the song on the piano and placed everything together. Inspired by pop singers like Dua Lipa with undertones of Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel and The Lumineers.
